Intuition
Reiki was taught and learned very intensively under Dr Usui. The students met once a week to meditate, apply Reiki together, and practice scanning the body until they succeeded in reaching a type of energetic diagnosis wherein the body was treated accordingly. Some Reiki practitioners are immediately successful in doing this. The Reiki power naturally finds its own path, precisely where it is needed. However, this does not exclude the possibility of the people giving the treatment following their own inspiration with their hands.
In Japan, the Reiki path is seen as a course of life that is followed through many decades to the end of a person's days.

Powerful Process
A powerful process is taking place on the planet that is destined to bring about the peace we so desperately need. A greater feeling of security along with the acceptance that the world has a viable future is encouraging people to create positive changes that suppport a peaceful planet.
Part of this process involves dispelling old restrictive beliefs and replacing them with the truth. As this happens people are gaining freedom and are in a better position to create a more desirable world.
We see this process taking place with Reiki. Reiki is not an oral tradition and written material is an important part of the practice. Learning about the philosophy and practical exercises taught by Usui creates an important level of understanding that connects us more strongly to the essence of Reiki.

Experiencing Reiki
Reiki is both powerful and gentle. In its long history of use it has aided in many ailments and illnesses.
It is always beneficial and works to improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance and has many benefits for both client and practitioner, including altered states of consciousness and spiritual experiences.
If a client has a health condition, and wants to be treated with Reiki, it is recommended that they do so under the supervision of an enlightened medical doctor or other health care professional. Reiki will improve the results of all medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain, reduce stress, and help create optimism.

Understanding Spirit
There are many methods through which we can step to access and learn how to use energy to heal.
While receiving Reiki we often experience more than one pair of hands on our bodies. This is the presence of angelic helpers and confims our own ability to feel the angelic realm.
"For I, Usai, am a river, I flow from the past to the future, through many turnings, yet I am that same river, in the past, in the present, in the future." Dr Usui

Reiki A Natural Healing Art and Its Origins
In the 1800's Dr Mikao Usui, a Christian Minister, was interested in prophets and their healing powers while a scholar University of Kyoto.
Ancient Buddhist teachings provided Dr Usui with symbols and teachings written in Sanskrit when meditating on a holy mountain in Japan.
His visions led him to heal with sickly people and those suffering from physical ailments and with his own awakening to the broader aspects of the person Dr Usui realised through meditation with monks that our spiritual soul and not just our physical bodies can also require healing.
Reiki strives to heal the whole person - all aspects of the human in its nature and pyyche. Nurturing and growth of univeral life energy is what we now call Reiki.
Dr Usui's disciple Chijiro Hayashi became the master of Reiki following the transitino of Usui. Hawayo Takata, a woman from Hawaii, was led to Reiki in 1933. Healed by Hayashi, she became his student. Takata studied in Japan for one year and returned to Hawaii.
In 1938 Hawayo Takata became a Reiki master. On the transition of Hayashi in 1940, Hawayo Takata became the grand master. On December 11, 1980 Takata went into transitin leaving 26 masters of Reiki in the United States and Canada.
These master have committed their lives to this art of healing that become a lifestyle, healing mind and body alike.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning 'Universal Life Energy'. We are all born with Reiki for it is the energy of life. The Usai system of Reiki is a healing art , channelling it through our bodies, to storage in the solar plexus into a patient through "laying of hands".
Reiki provides spiritual growth by promoting 'life' and inner growth. More and more with the receiving or Reiki you will encounter a quietness to your lifestyle through honest actions. Be prepared for spiritual healing.
Accept and give thanks.
